History
Alpha Delta Eta has its roots at Brockport Normal School (a normal school was a teaching school) where the Alpha Delta Sorority was founded in 1886. The Eta Chapter of Alpha Delta was installed at Oswego Normal School in June of 1925 having evolved from a local debating society, Lambda Sigma.
In September 1954 when New York State passed a decree banning national organizations on State University campuses, the Eta chapter of Alpha Delta Sorority became a local organization and our colors changed from Lavender and White to Purple and White.
