Coaching Converations
The Alumni Association replaced the Mentoring program with "Coaching Conversations."
Why the change?
Any good program goes through phases that require it to be tweaked and updated to ensure it continues to meet the needs of its participants. The members of the Alumni Association listened to the feedback of our current sisters and alumni and have used it to develop this new program.
What can a participant expect?
Initially all that is required is a 30 minute phone conversation (or Zoom or Facetime, even in person if you are in the same city!) to discuss whatever area you are seeking input on! Coaching focuses on concrete issues (i.e. job searches, honing interview skills, managing a project effectively, what classes to take in a certain major, time management, etc.) and utilizes a content expert (an alumni sister with experience guiding/teaching the development of these skills or how to navigate these situations). You can have as many conversations as you would like with as many available alumni as you would like! If both the Coach and the participant agree, coaching sessions can go beyond the initial 30 minutes into a longer meeting or even a series of meetings.
What will my Coach expect from me?
Take the lead to schedule a meeting when you are assigned a Coach and be open to feedback and suggestions - that's it!
How do I request a Coaching Conversation?
Email your name, graduation year (or when you expect to graduate), your major, your contact information and what topic you would like to discuss with a coach to: mentor@alphadeltaetaalumniassociation.org.
How do I become a Coach?
Simply click here - Coaching Conversations - and complete the form. It will take less than a minute - we promise!
